Accounts frequently asked questions
You can change the name of your accounts using Internet Banking. For more assistance, watch our video guide.
Login to Internet Banking > select Settings.
From the dropdown menu select Account Settings.
Scroll down to the Edit Account Name and choose display section.
Decide which account you wish to change the name of and select the Nickname field.
Type in your nickname for the account and select the Save button.
Your account has now updated to the nickname you have entered.
You can change the transfer limit for BPAY, OSKO and standard transfers using Internet Banking. For more assistance, watch our video guide.
Login to Internet Banking > select Account Settings.
From the dropdown menu select Daily Transfer Limits.
Select the payment limit you would like to change in the Limit column.
Click the payment amount you want to change it to.
Scroll down a click on the Get SMS button to get your One Time Password by SMS.
Once you receive your SMS, enter the One Time Password into the text field and click the Submit button.
Your transfer limit has now been changed.
Login to Internet Banking > select Settings.
Select Update Contact Details.
An SMS One Time Password is sent to your mobile phone for security purposes.
You can add your Tax File Number to your account in Internet Banking.
Login to Internet Banking.
Select Settings.
Then select Tax File Number to add your Tax File Number.
Select Submit. You'll receive an SMS confirmation to confirm your Tax File Number has been updated.
Taxation Implications of Acquiring a Product
If you choose not to quote your or details of exemption in connection with a Bank First account, Withholding Tax will be deducted from interest payments as required by taxation legislation. This may be at the highest marginal tax rate plus Medicare Levy.
School and Preschool accounts are exempt from having to quote a Tax File Number. School Co-operatives and Preschools must provide us with their Australian Business Number (ABN) to avoid being levied Withholding Tax.

If you know your existing password:
Login to Internet Banking > select Settings > select Change Password.
To reset your password, you will be required to have SMS Security registered on your account.
Enter your existing and new password.
Please note: All passwords are case sensitive. Make sure that you enter carefully and correctly.
To register for SMS Security, please contact us.
Log in to your Internet Banking account.
Select ‘Services’ then select ‘Overseas Travel’ from the menu.
You will need to provide a contact method while you’re overseas, the countries you plan to visit and the dates you’ll be away.

Bank First does not have a SWIFT code as we utilise Convera to process international funds transfers.

Next to each account, as you scroll, you can view how much interest you’ve earned and been charged each financial year.

Select Interest details.

Manage Term Deposits in Internet Banking
Yes you can, as long as the remaining balance meets the minimum amount required for a Term Deposit.
Login to Internet Banking > select Accounts.
Select Term Deposit Maturity Instructions.
Fill out the form and at the bottom of the form, select Redeem Interest Only.
Complete the remaining details.
