How to recognise a fake website
Scammers can create fake websites that look almost identical to a reputable organisation that you deal with. These websites are also designed to steal your personal information.
Protect yourself by:
Searching for the website on Google and comparing the URLs.
Checking if the URL begins with https:// instead of http:// (s stands for secure).
Checking if there is a padlock icon next to the URL indicating a valid security certificate.
If you believe you have found a fake Bank First website, please email us immediately with the URL and screenshot on info@bankfirst.com.au.
Remember, we'll never call you out of the blue and request financial information. Reputable companies will not do this either.
Never share your passwords and always check who is contacting you before acting. Don't act straight away. As always, you should stop, check and protect. Ask a friend or family member if you're ever unsure.

Stop
Don’t act straight away. Stop and think about what you’re being asked to do.
Real companies or government agencies won’t pressure you to make payments.
Check
Have a quick look on Google to see if the company or person is real and whether it's the right phone number.
Check to see if anyone else has had similar experiences.
Protect
If something feels wrong, act quickly.
Contact your bank immediately if you notice unusual activity or if a scammer gets your money or information.
